Grove Lodge and Courtyard

Located just outside the bustling town of Middlesbrough, on the tree lined Marton Road – Grove Lodge and Courtyard provides residential services for adults with a primary diagnosis in mental health. Across two floors the care home accommodates up to 57 people with 28 on the Ground Floor (Grove Lodge) and 29 on the First Floor (The Courtyard).

Relaxed lounges and modern bedrooms complement daily life alongside the main kitchen and three alternative dining and skills kitchens – located on both floors within the home. This enables all people who live in Grove Lodge and Courtyard to develop and maintain independence and daily living skills, preparing them for potentially moving on to a more independent setting and life.

Our service is dedicated to positive encouragement and empowerment to facilitate opportunities that allow residents to be as independent as possible. Support with decision-making and involving the resident in their care is key, with the opportunity for people living in Grove Lodge and Courtyard to make their own decisions being sensitively provided.

Daily Life

We speak to all of our residents and their family, friends and support workers to determine interests, preferences and skills. Based on these discussions a specific program of occupational and therapeutic lifestyle choices and activities will be devised with the individual. Opportunities for residents to participate in a wide range of past times is practised throughout the home. Each individual will have a record of choices and preferred lifestyle choices, alongside an individualised plan that will support each resident in achieving their goals and preferred past times. Our Lifestyle Coordinator facilitates a wider range of activities and past times - linked to lifestyle and choice - these include; cooking, art and crafts, a walking group, exercise and wellbeing, amongst others - all of which are chosen by our residents. Their preferences and ideas are sought in monthly meetings too. Furthermore, there is an annual holiday, which everyone greatly looks forward to.
