May 2021: Out and About at Sovereign Court

Sovereign Court Newsletter: May Edition

Well what a lovely month we have had in April, being able to start getting ourselves out around the local parks and to the shops. It’s been a tough not being to see our loved ones or get out but we are now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, being able to see our families again and having trips out is wonderful.

We have had lots of fantastic outings and activities going on within Sovereign Court with our lifestyle support Gemma such as a singer for Lynn’s 60th birthday and a party afterwards, trips into Newcastle and the Metro Centre. We have even had visits off the ice cream van and celebrated St George’s Day with fish and chips plus a nice tipple to wash them down with! Also we have taken a couple of our residents to the local hairdressers for a nice pamper.

Next month we have lots of activities such as going to the bingo, sea life centre and even pizza making – with lots more excitement to come as further restrictions lift.

What's been happening at Sovereign Court

Since our wonderful Lifestyle Support Gemma has come back from shield there has been a lot more happening in and around the home. We have started to refresh our garden in time for the nicer weather by painting our window boxes with some lovely pastel colours – we’re now looking forward to planting the flowers!

We have also been getting out and about in our local area as restrictions have been eased. Our residents have especially loved going to the shops and exploring the local parks.

Activities for May

We visited a variety of places throughout April including the local shops, park, Newcastle city centre, the Metro Centre and the hairdressers. As more restrictions ease, we have much more planned including the following! Bingo Hall Sea Life Centre Cinema In-House Entertainment BBQ Pub trips Bowling

Birthdays & Special Mentions

We are delighted to announce that our wonderful Lynn recently celebrated her 60th birthday with us! We partied in style with cake and a singer! We are also pleased to announce that we have a new carer joining our team called Jade - who will be joining on night shift. Finally, we'd like to put a shout out there to our carers Chloe and Michaela who are well on their way to becoming Seniors!
