Staff Training and Our Commitment to Care

02/09/2024

At Papillon Care, we understand the vital role our exceptional staff teams play in delivering first-class person-centred care to our residents.

Our dedication lies in ensuring the well-being of both residents and staff, offering essential training and support to meet the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) quality standards. We strive to cultivate an environment where our team members can excel, feel appreciated, and provide exceptional care for our residents.

Staff Wellbeing

In line with the CQC quality statement “We care about and promote the wellbeing of our staff, and we support and enable them to always deliver person centred care” we embody this principle by ensuring our employees have access to all necessary resources and facilities for safe working conditions. This includes regular breaks, rest areas, and opportunities to provide feedback and raise concerns. Our culture prioritizes listening, inclusivity, and openness, making Papillon Care a great place to work.

We support our staff through various initiatives:

Our staff rooms are designed to offer a relaxing environment, and we continually seek feedback through team surveys. The results from our 2023 survey were impressive, with 98% of our staff feeling safe at work, 88% feeling supported, and 82% noting a positive atmosphere. Read more feedback from our 2023 survey, here.

We also provide access to the WPA private healthcare scheme, which includes a comprehensive range of health benefits such as dental, optical, and therapy treatments, as well as hospital stays and GP charges. The WPA Employee Assistance Programme offers 24/7 telephone support and structured counselling, ensuring our team members receive the help they need, when they need it.

Learning and Development

At Papillon Care, we have a comprehensive training matrix tailored to each role within our homes, incorporating both face-to-face and e-learning modules to ensures our staff are always up-to-date with the latest practices and techniques in care. This holistic approach alines with the CQC quality statements surrounding learning, improvement and innovation – as set out in the new Single Assessment Framework.

To further support professional growth, we offer:

A Supportive Culture

Our impressive track record of internal promotions and succession planning showcases the opportunities available within Papillon Care. Many of our managers began their careers in care roles, demonstrating our commitment to nurturing and developing talent from within; and creating a family-like atmosphere for residents, their family and friends with staff.
