With Tracy now settled into her new role, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to get to know our new Home Manager a little more with some fun icebreaker questions. Read Tracy’s answers below.

When did you start your career in care and what prompted you to do so?

I started in career in 2008 in care , my passion for care came when I nursed my mum towards the end of her life. After her passing the need to help others  continued, this is when I applied to work at the grove.

What do you like most about Grove Lodge & Courtyard?

What I love about the care home is that every day if different and we face many different challenges on a daily basis. We strive to make a difference to peoples lives when others wouldn’t give them a chance due to their complex illnesses and backgrounds.  We have helped  many people move on to better places once we have regained their independence and skills, and also helped residents achieve their life longs goals such as going to on holiday to Graceland and even moving on and to live independently in the community and getting married.

What are three things you can’t live without?

My children, grandkids and friends.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

To never judge a book by its cover, we have all came from different walks in life and we never know what people have gone through or is currently going through. A quote I live by is ‘Happiness isn’t about getting what you want all the time, it’s about loving what you have and been grateful for it’ ”

Describe your management style in three words?

Effective, caring and approachable.

Where are you most likely to be found on your days off?

Spending time with my family.

What are you most excited for in 2023?

I am most excited about my new adventure in becoming a home manager, meeting new people and learning new skills along the way, I am also looking forward to some well deserved time off to go on a family holiday in the summer.

Tracy’s door is open to all residents, their families and friends –  please don’t hesitate to go and see her if there is something you would like to discuss.
